La publicación del informe 2010 de Human Rights watch engloba una visión de los diferentes escenarios de inexistencia de derechos humanos en el mundo. Creo que es un buen punto de partida para interesarnos y poder investigar sobre los diferentes conflictos. A mí personalmente me desborda. No consigo tener consciencia de la magnitud de la situación. Millones de personas, millones. Millones de mujeres secuestradas, violadas sistemáticamente. Millones de niños forzados a trabajar, hambrientos. Son millones.
Si véis alguno de estos conflictos os daréis cuenta que el patrón es muy similar en la mayoría de ellos. Dictador, desigualdad social,instituciones inoperantes, policía corrupta ,etc.. En algunos casos, siempre que haya alguna matería prima interesante, con un país del primer mundo nutriendo a la élite económica del país, o manteniendo guerras con el objetivo de conseguir el comercio de esa materia prima.

Es desolador. La pregunta que me viene a la cabeza es la de siempre. Qué puedo hacer yo? Yo creo que por un lado hay que interesarse, aprovechar internet para conocer qué está pasando.y por otro indignarse! como dice nuestro amigo  Stéphane Hessel (http://compartablog.blogspot.com/2011/02/indignez-vous.html) .

Estoy convencido que estos dos pasos nos ponen en predisposición para encontrar maneras de aportar. Quizás colaborando con organizaciones internacionales, quizás en trabajo de campo como en Osatu (http://compartablog.blogspot.com/2010/09/compartiendo-sharing.html) , quizás colaborando con gente en nuestro barrio.

El estado de indignación me parece imprescindible. Porque la situación es crítica.

The 2010 report published by Human Rights Watch includes an overview of the different scenarios of no human rights in the world. I think it is a good starting point for our interest and to investigate the various conflicts. I am personally overflowed. I do not get to be aware of the magnitude of the situation. Millions, . Millions of women abducted, raped systematically. Millions of children forced to work, hungry. There are millions.
If you see any of these conflicts, you will realize that the pattern is very similar in mostof them. Dictator, social inequality, institutions ineffective, corrupt police, etc. .. In some cases,if any interesting raw material available, with a first world country by nurturing the economic elite, or keeping wars with the objective of achieving trade in that commodity.

It is heartbreaking. The question that comes to mind is always the same . What I can do? I think that on one side  interesting on learning what is going on by  Internet and on another, indignant! as our friend Stéphane Hessel(http://compartablog.blogspot.com/2011/02/indignez-vous.html).

I am convinced that these two steps put us in readiness to find ways to contribute.Perhaps collaborating with international organizations, perhaps in field work as Osatu(http://compartablog.blogspot.com/2010/09/compartiendo-sharing.html), perhapsworking with people in our neighborhood.

The state of indignation seems to me essential. Because the situation is critical.

Sunitha Krishnan, dedica su vida a luchar contra el tráfico de niños. Niñas de tres, de cuatro, que son violadas brutalmente día tras día. Nos cuenta historias de prostíbulos donde cada noche tienen más de treinta clientes por niña.

Esto es muy incómodo de oir. Realmente dan ganas de pasar página y leer algo más alegre, que bastantes problemas tengo yo ya .... 

Esto es una realidad. Y duele.

Pienso en mi desamparo si a alguna de mis hijas le pasase esto. Pienso en el espanto diario, en el terror, en el dolor.

Hace unos días tuve una conversación con un señor que me contaba las bonanzas de las semanas de vacaciones en punta cana. Dentro de esas bonanzas me confiaba cómplice que , si necesitas servicios extras sólo tienes que pedirlos.... Acabé la conversación de forma explícita. "Eso es una mierda". 

Yo creo que , por lo menos tenemos que mentalizarnos a actuar cuando a nuestro alrededor salgan estos temas. Si se puede actuar más directamente mejor, pero por lo menos mantener una postura inflexible y explícita al respecto.

Sunitha Krishnan, devotes his life to fighting child trafficking. Aged three, four, who are brutally raped every day. We tell stories of houses where each night are more than thirty clients per child.
This is very uncomfortable to hear. I really just want to turn the page and read something more cheerful,  I have enough problems already ....
This is a reality. And it hurts.
I think of my helplessness if one of my daughters will pass it. I think of daily terror, the horror, the pain.
A few days ago I had a conversation with a gentleman who told me the goodies of weeks of vacation in punta cana. Within these goodies he told me closely, if you need extra services just ask .... I ended the conversation explicitly. "That sucks. "
I think at least we have to psych to act when we go around these issues. If you can act more directly better, but at least maintain a tough stance and explicit in this regard.

No puedo recordar algo que me produjese más miedo que la inseguridad a la noche cuando era pequeño. Una sombra , un ruido, cualquier cosa. Tener a los padres cerca era suficiente para poder dormir tranquilamente.
En el caso de los night commuters el miedo está justificado.

I can not remember anything more fearfull than  insecurity at night when I was little. A shadow, noise, anything. Having parents around was enough to sleep deeply.

No os perdáis este corto que es una historia preciosa sobre otro punto de vista vital. Que me hace reflexionar sobre nuestra prepotencia como "primer mundo". Nuestra necedad y falta de humildad para poder aprender de otras culturas, incluso después de ver el fracaso de nuestro sistema que , si bien ha conseguido un nivel de satisfacción de necesidades básicas muy bueno, no ha sabido para ahí y nos coloca en una carrera frenética por el tener.

Me sigo encontrando de forma contínua con el concepto de la Permacultura. Parece que cada vez se está instalando más sólidamente en los grupos de personas que están ya entrando en el cambio. Gente que , se indignan (ver último post) y optan por no entrar en el peligro de la sociedad de consumo sin medida. También buscan una alimentación lo más sana posible. El otro día me explicaron que las manzanas que llegan al supermercados vienen enceradas ....enceradas!!! para que brillen y sean más apetecibles.
La permacultura está arraigando en los lugares en los que ya se está optando por la producción local, desarrollo sostenible y una vida más natural y más feliz. Aquí, de nuevo aparecen conceptos como el decrecimiento o el movivimiento slow. No sé si es que siempre me centro en lo mismo o es que realmente estos moviemientos estan cogiendo tanta fuerza. Por cierto, en mi ciudad ya hay un grupo de compras para gente que quiere alimentos ecológicos. Así que ya no es un mito, ni se desarrollan en pequeños pueblos hippies, ya están cerca.
Uniré la permacultura con el concepto de ciudad en transición que os contaré el próximo post.

I keep finding on an ongoing basis with the concept of permaculture. It seems that is installing more solidly in the groups of people who are already entering the change. People that are angry (see last post) and choose not to enter the danger of the consumer society beyond measure. Also looking for a food as healthy as possible. The other day I was told that the apples reach the supermarkets are waxed   waxed ....! to shine and be more palatable.
Permaculture is taking root in places where they already are opting for local production, sustainable development and a more natural life and happier. Here, new concepts appear as the decrease or slow movement. I do not know if I always centered on the same or is it really such movements are taking so much strength.

Indeed, in my city and there is a buying group for people who want organic food. So it is no longer a myth, or developed in small hippy towns , they're close.
Permaculture will join with the concept of a city in transition, I will tell the next post.

Arcadi Oliveres es un doctor en economía por la Universidad de Barcelona. Conocido experto en relaciones norte-sur, comercio internacional, deuda externa y economía de defensa.Por cierto , es un gran defensor del decrecimiento (ver post http://compartablog.blogspot.com/2010/09/cuestion-de-crecimiento-matter-of.html). En este video nos da unas ideas para entender el concepto de inmigración. No sólamente desde el punto de vista de solidaridad social, sino desde el punto de vista histórico y económico. Es muy difícil que podamos tener una visión real del significado de la inmigración porque la información que recibimos de la prensa suele estar bastante sesgada. Creo que tenemos que hacer una reflexión serena de lo que significa acoger a otras personas. Una reflexión profunda de lo que significa ser de una determinada zona y de los derechos que suponemos que se nos otorga por el mero hecho de haber nacido ahí.
Creo que a estas alturas cada vez más gente está por encima de nacionalismos obsoletos de cualquier tipo y está siendo consciente que el reparto de la riqueza es indispensable y urgente.
Propongo un ejercicio simple. Vamos a intentar sacar de nuestro día a día comentarios como "los inmigrantes son unos vagos","vienen a chupar del bote" etc... Si no lo verbalizamos quizás conseguiremos quitar estos pensamientos.
No olvidemos que nuestros abuelos emigraron suplicando trabajo.No olvidemos.

It is very difficult for us to have a real vision of the meaning of immigration because the information we receive from the press tends to be quite biased. I believe we must make a sober reflection of what it means to welcome others. A deep reflection of what it means to be in a certain region and assume the rights granted to us by the mere fact of being born there.
I think that by now more and more people are above any outdated nationalism and being aware that the distribution of wealth is indispensable and urgent.
I propose a simple exercise. We will try to get out of our day to day comments as"immigrants are lazy, " "come to take advantage of us"etc ... If not verbalize these thoughts may get removed.
Right! How quickly we forget when our grandparents emigrated pleading work.

Os acerco un concepto que probablemente no sea muy conocido. Es el servicio de DOULA. Las Doulas son mujeres que ayudan a otras mujeres en los partos y posterior criado de los recién nacidos. El proceso psicológico ,hormonal etc. de una mujer que da a luz le transporta a una situación muy especial, donde la dependencia de ayuda es práctica habitual. Es un momento donde ni los conocimientos (en el caso de primerizas) ni las fuerzas, ni la disponibilidad de tiempo ayudan y donde se mezcla con la falta de sueño y el agotamiento en general. Es un cambio de vida con mayúsculas. Aqui la figura de las madres (ahora abuelas) es muy importante, pero no siempre es posible tenerle a su lado. Por este motivo el servicio de DOULA supone un papel muy relevante que puede hacer una labor de enseñanza ,apoyo, aporte de tranquilidad definitivo para el buen fin del alumbramiento y periodo posterior.
Este hecho lo conocemos bien en http://www.osatu.org/  ( ver post http://compartablog.blogspot.com/2010/09/compartiendo-sharing.html ) donde se gestiona este servicio para mujeres en riesgo de exclusión social y desprotección.
Quizás pueda ser una actividad donde poder realizar nuestra ilusión por compartir. Nunca se sabe. Lo que sí puedo decir es que tiene un valor enorme.

I approached a concept that is probably not well known. It is the doula services. Doulas are women helping other women in childbirth and post-reared infants. The psychological process, hormonal etc. A woman who gives birth is transported to a very special situation where aid dependence is common practice. It is a time where neither the knowledge (in the case of rookie mothers) or the strength nor the time available to help andvwhere they mixed with sleep deprivation and exhaustion in general. It's a life change in capital letters. Here the figure of the mother (now grandmother) is very important, but not always possible to have at her side. For this reason DOULA service is a very important role which can make a work of teaching, support, provision of permanent peace for the successful completion of delivery and after matters.

Hoy es una noche especial. La noche de la ilusión , la que realmente nos ha hecho soñar desde generaciones. Mis hijas están emocionadas limpiando el zapato, preparando las viandas para los Reyes y sus camellos. A mí me sigue haciendo ilusión quizás porque es algo que está enraizado en nuestras tradiciones, y no son importaciones impuestas por criterios comerciales.

Esta es mi carta a los Reyes este año;

Queridos Reyes Magos ;

Este año me he intentado portar bastante bien. He intentado querer a la gente que me rodea, pero a veces me ha costado porque no hacen lo que yo quiero ni piensan lo que yo pienso. Os doy las gracias por mi familia que dicen que me quieren mucho, la verdad es que  yo también a ellos. Gracias por enseñarme que son lo más importante para mí.

Este año , me gustaría que no me trajeséis nada. Porque después de todo un año, de las cosas que han ido pasando (que han sido intensas)  y lo que he aprendido investigando para encontrar temas interesantes para el blog, ya sé realmente lo que quiero. Quiero mirar donde más duele, quiero tener fuerzas para aportar, para compartir. Y necesito esa fuerza, porque mirar donde duele, aportar y compartir me cuesta. Y me cuesta mucho. Así que lo he ido haciendo pero supongo que mucho menos de lo que puedo.

Y quiero más, quiero realmente aportar para cambiar el mundo, de una o de más personas, de las de cerca y de las que viven a miles de km de mi casa.Quiero compartir con mucha gente que ese cambio sí es posible.Quiero que mucha gente que lea el blog, independientemente de su edad, se decida a actuar. Quiero fuerza para enseñar a mis hijos la curiosidad para indagar y descubrir cómo aportar y como crecer. Quiero poder despertar la inquietud en cuanto más gente mejor, para que cada uno desde sus circunstancias ,posibilidades y capacidades aporten a la gente que lo necesita. De verdad.
Porque a esa gente no les visitáis y no sé porqué ya que son los que más lo necesitan, y me gustaría que lo hiciéseis.

Y quiero no perder el estado de alerta, no olvidar. No levantar ninguna copa de champán sin tener en cuenta los que no pueden ni comer. Y hoy , un día tan especial, me gustaría que lo que pensábais traerme, lo multipliquéis y lo llevéis donde seguro que sabéis que hace más falta. Y esta petición os la hago no solo para esta noche sino para todo el año que comienza. Para el día a día, para poder compartir esta petición con los que me rodean y que ,haciendo estos lo mismo, podamos de verdad mover pieza.

Le preguntaron a Teresa de Calcuta porqué no escuchaba a los políticos. Ella dijo, porque una vez me fui a escuchar a uno y en ese tiempo se me murieron tres niños.

Today is a special night. The night of illusion, that really made us dream for generations. My daughters are excited about the shoe cleaning, preparing the food for the Kings and their camels. Continues I hope may be it is something that is rooted in our traditions, and are not imports imposed by commercial considerations.

This is my letter to the three wise men this year;

Dear Wise Men;

This year I've behaved pretty well. I tried to love people around me, but sometimes it has cost me because they don´t want what I want t or think what I think. I thank my family who say they love me, the truth is that I love them too. Thanks for teaching that are most important to me.

This year, I would like you not to bring me anything. Because after a year, things have been happening (which have been intense) and what I learned researching to find interesting topics for the blog, I know really what I want. I want to see where it hurts, I want to contribute forces to share. And I need that strength, because looking where it hurts, contributing and sharing are really difficult.  I've been doing sobut I guess a lot less than I can.

And I want more, I really want to make to change the world, of one or more people, people around and those living thousands of miles away.I want to share with many people that change itself is posible.I want that many people who read the blog, regardless of age, decide to act. I want strength to teach my children the curiosity to investigate and discover how to make it and how to grow. I want to raise concerns as many  people as possible, so that each one from their circumstances, opportunities and capabilities to help people in need. Really.
Because these people do not recieve yours visits and I do not know why because they are most in need, and I would ye should do it.

And I do not lose the state of alert, do not forget. Do not lift any champagne glass regardless of who can not eat. And today a special day, I would like the gifts you we´re going to bring to my place, multiplied and bring them where you know are needed  most. And I make this request you not only tonight but throughout the coming year. For day to day, to share this request with those around me and that, making these the same, we really moving piece.

Asked Teresa of Cacuta why not listen to politicians. She said, because once I went to hear one and in that time three of my children died.

Una iniciativa bastante espectacular. Desde luego a mi me lo parece. Un grupo de emprendedores han sido conscientes de que en el primer mundo hay muchos optometristas por cada mil habitantes, sin embargo en el mundo en desarrollo es evidente que no. Por tanto hay millones de personas que simplemente no ven. Para darle solución han desarrollado unas gafas universales que se pueden ajustar in situ para ajustarlas a cada usuario. Esto es increíble, porque con este simple mecanismo se puede dar cobertura a millones de personas que, de otra manera , sería imposible. Ahora están trabajando en reducir los costes de fabricación y solicitan apoyo para poder llegar a cuantos más zonas mejor. (Vgr http://www.gv2020.org/liberia.htm)
Otra iniciativa más, esta vez muy impresionante, preocupada por los más desfavorecidos.

An initiative quite spectacular. at least,  it seems to me. A group of entrepreneurs have been aware that in the first world there are many optometrists per thousand inhabitants, but in the developing world there are clearly not. So there are millions of people who simply do not see. In order to solve this problem thet have developed universal glasses that can be adjusted in situ to suit each user. This is unbelievable, because with this simple mechanism can provide coverage to millions of people who would otherwise be impossible. Buena iniciativa de médicos sin fronteras . Me gusta la idea de comprar pastillas para que se curen otros. La potencia de estas campañas se basa en la capacidad de influencia de la organización en sí. En este caso , médicos sin fronteras tiene fama de hacer bien su trabajo. a mi me inspira mucha confianza , siempre están en los núcleos más problemáticos.
Espero que tengan suerte con la campaña.

Good doctors without borders initiative. I like the idea of buying pills to heal others. The power of these campaigns is based on the leverage of the organization itself. In this case, doctors without borders has a good reputation for doing his job. I trust on their efforts, always are on the most difficult places.
Hope they have luck with the campaign.

Esto es increíble. Cada vez me sorprendo más. Cada vez veo más iniciativas. Qué nivel de compromiso. Otra idea brillante para repartir ilusiones. Yo creo que sería buena idea apoyarles, no? Me gusta tanto. Me recuerda al biciclown (ver post).

This is unbelievable.  Every time I see more initiatives.How people have commitment. Another bright idea to spread illusions. I think it would be a good idea to support them, right? I like a lot. It remidns me Biciclown (see post).

MUJERES NOBEL / NOBEL WOMEN

Desde 2006 se han agrupado voluntades del grupo de mujeres que han recibido el premio nobel de la paz. Su objetivo es , conseguir que se aunen fuerzas para fortalecer los procesos de paz en todo el mundo. Obviamente el peso de estas mujeres es muy importante y está arrastrando a otras organizaciones. La idea es coordinar esfuerzos no solamente para conseguir la paz sino también la igualdad social. Es en el campo femenino donde más se está sufriendo las desigualdades y los abusos (ver posts "no más limosnas", "somos uno"). Y es desde el campo femenino desde donde se está obteniendo el mayor compromiso sobre la solidaridad social.
Merece la pena conocer más. Igual encontráis el hueco para actuar.

Since 2006, wills were clustered by a group of women who have received the Nobel Peace Prize. Their goal is to join forces to strengthen peace processes around the world.Obviously the weight of these women is very important and being dragged to other organizations. The idea is to coordinate efforts to achieve not only peace but also social equality. Is in the female area where there is the most suffered people from the inequities and abuses (see posts "no more handouts," we are one "). And women are getting a greater commitment on social solidarity.
It is worth to know more. Perhaps you´ll  find the space to act.

Cuando insisto en la posibilidad de cambiar el mundo, me refiero a casos como el de Hernan Zin (http://www.hernanzin.com/index.html) como ejemplos de lo que podemos hacer cada uno en su medida. Estos son casos excepcionales del compromiso en la acción directa. Vale la pena seguir los movimientos de este periodista argentino para entender de una vez por todas que no vale no hacer nada. Hay que moverse , interesarse y buscar el hueco donde podemos aportar. Hernan Zin describe en sus libros y reportajes la durísima realidad que sufren millones de personas diariamente. En sus últimos proyectos está haciendo un reportaje sobre la violación a mujeres como arma de guerra. Tengo muchas ganas de poder verlo. Inmenso trabajo de calidad.
En las estadísticas de compartablog, este tipo de posts son los menos vistos. Os animo a que no sea así, entrad a enteraros de lo que está pasando y animaros a entrar en acción en la medida de vuestras posibilidades. When I insist on the possibility of changing the world, I think of cases like Hernan Zin (http://www.hernanzin.com/index.html) as examples of what we can do each in his level. These are exceptional cases of commitment to direct action. Worth following the movements of the Argentinian journalist to understand  that is not worth doing nothing. Let's move, interest and find the space where we can contribute. Hernan Zin described in his books and reports the harsh reality faced by millions of people daily. In his latest project is doing a story on the rape of women as a weapon of war. I have really wanted to see it. Huge quality work.
In compartablog statistics, such posts are rarely viewed. I encourage you not to do so, come to take cognizance of what is happening and encourage you to take action on the level of your potential. If you want you can write me and I can share with you the ways I know of collaboration.

Cuando comemos nuestro chocolate favorito, estamos al final de una cadena de esclavitud que yo desconocía. Zonas como Costa de Marfil son áreas que suponen la mayor parte de la producción de cacao mundial , por sus condiciones ambientales y por su , cómo no , mano de obra barata. Barata no es una palabra que se ajuste a la realidad. La situación es límite, utilizando niños esclavos como mano de obra. En este video de la BBC podéis ver un reportaje bastante concreto de lo que está pasando. Qué podemos hacer, no comprar los chocolates comerciales en los supermercados y en la medida que se pueda acceder a atención al usuario de estas compañias y decirles porqué no compramos. Supongo que estaréis pensando que es utópico. Yo creo que no. Los departamentos de marketing de las grandes compañías son extraordinariamente sensibles a estos temas porque un error y sus cuotas de mercado se desploman. When we eat our favorite chocolate, we are at the end of a chain of slavery that I did not know.Areas like the Ivory Coast are areas that represent most of the world's cocoa production, their environmental conditions and their, of course, cheap labor are the reasons. Cheap is not a word that fits the reality. The situation is the limit, using children as slave labor. In this video from the BBC you can see a very specific story of what is happening. What can we do? not to buy commercial chocolates in supermarkets and to the extent that you can access customer services of these companies and tell them why we do not buy. I guess that you can  be thinking that it is utopian. I dont believe so. The marketing departments of large companies are extremely sensitive to these issues because a mistake and their market shares come down. La historia del Sr. Yunus el la historia de la inteligencia .La inteligencia en su mayor expresión de habilidad ,sensibilidad y clarividencia. Es la historia del que,una vez formado, pone sus conocimiento al servicio de los demás. De nuevo sin ideologías, religiones etc. Sin interferencias y directo al problema. Esta determinación ha hecho que la Grameen Foundation no sólo sea la precursora a nivel mundial del concepto del microcrédito, sino que es un modelo que ha permitido el desarrollo de infinidad de proyectos personales de personas sin recursos. Yunus nos ha explicado la diferencia de ayudar a emprender frente a subvencionar a fondo perdido. Nos ha explicado que los préstamos grupales disminuyen la morosidad y hacen factible la concesión de préstamos y que el 80% de los que dan valor a los préstamos son las mujeres. En fín,
Echad un vistazo e investigad sobre esta hombre realmente excepcional. Otro ejemplo de gente que sí cambia el mundo. En este caso el de mucha gente.

The story of Mr. Yunus is a tale of intelligence. The intelligence at its best skill, sensitivity and foresight. It is the story of which, once formed, puts his knowledge at the service of others. Again, without ideologies, religions etc. No interferences, direct to the problem. This determination has made the Grameen Foundation  not only to be a precursor  of the concept of microcredit, but that is a model that has allowed the development of countless personal projects of the needy. Yunus has explained the difference between helping to empower new entrepreneur or granting for good. He has explained that groupal lending reduce procrastination and make feasible the provision of loans, and 80% of total well used loans are for women. Anyway,
Take a look and inquire about this man who is truly exceptional. Another example of people who really change the world. In this case,the world of many people.

Alvaro Neil lleva más de 84.000 kilómetros en bici alrededor del mundo. Su idea es llevar sonrisas, sin más. Supongo que es una apuesta arriesgada. Claro que podría ir en avión en vez de ir en bici y hacer sus espectáculos de payaso igualmente. Pero da la sensación que todo junto cobra mucho sentido. Viajar despacio , vivir de cerca cómo viven las diferentes gentes de los diferentes lugares por los que pasa. Pero principalmente hacer reir , hacer reir a los que no pueden pagar la entrada a un teatro importante, a los que la vida les va castigando desde que nacen. A los que viven el horror en el día a día. A esos , Alvaro les lleva sonrisas.

Alvaro Neil has more than 84,000 km by bicycle around the world. His idea is to bring smiles, no more. I guess it's risky. Sure he could go by plane instead of biking and make their shows as well. But the feeling that all together takes a lot of sense. Travel slowly, living up close how different people live in different places . But mostly making people laugh, making people laugh at those who can not afford the entrance to a major theater, which are punished from birth. Those who live the horror every day. To this, Alvaro leads them smiles.
